Food & Water Security in South Africa Monitoring Project – this project focuses on the food and water security nexus in South Africa. The project interrogates the land and water crisis trajectory in South Africa, within the context of food security. The project will also draw from requisite food and water security experiences from across Africa to inform the South African situation. Indeed, the unresolved land issue in South Africa is a threat to food and water security and a potential resource-based conflict in the future.
Augustus Consulting African Conflict Research Program (ACRP) is made up of the following projects:
Border Disputes Monthly Monitoring Project
Focuses on all the current and potential border disputes in Africa including resource-based conflicts/disputes over water rights (for example, the countries along the Nile River); land rights disputes; mineral rights disputes, among others. The implications for business and investors for such border disputes are also explored. Regular Working Papers focused on these issues will be produced for the requisite Augustus Consulting clients.
Secessionist Movements Monthly Monitoring Project
Focuses on all current and potential secessionist movements in Africa for example, in Mombasa, Kenya; the Royal Barotseland in western Zambia; Casamance Region, Senegal; AmaTembu people, Eastern Cape, South Africa etc. The research project focuses on analysing the implications of these secessionist movements on current and potential business and investors in those regions. Regular Working Papers focused on these issues will be produced for our client business and investors etc.
African Conflict Monthly Monitoring Project
The project provides the African Conflict Monthly Monitoring Project Report.
African Conflicts Database
The database contains all the key current and recent African Conflicts. This is a unique initiative by Augustus Consulting. It is imperative to note that there is currently no comprehensive and unified database on African conflicts. The African Conflicts Database will be useful for researchers, policy-makers, businesses, among others.
